The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association (BPBA) is pleased to announce Victoria Lant as its new Chair, succeeding Elizabeth Thorn, who as a volunteer, led the organization with dedication for the past 13 years.

We extend our sincere thanks to Elizabeth for her years of commitment, during which the Biosphere achieved key milestones, including a 100 acre wetland purchase, the first regional conservation and stewardship plan, launch of Six Streams Initiative focussing on improving water quality, restoring habitat through phragmites control, expanded community outreach including the endangered red-headed woodpecker, promoting protection of our dark skies through Bayside Astronomy, and launching EcoAdventures, a sustainable tourism initiative. Elizabeth will continue as an active Board Member.

The Biosphere also welcomes our new VP of Administration, Kelly Asghar, and our new water quality scientist, Dr. Jennifer Adams.

Joining Victoria on the BPBA Board’s executive team are John Rodgers who continues as Vice Chair, Dr. Katherine McLeod as Treasurer, and Pat Sein as Secretary. Each brings valuable expertise and a strong commitment to the Biosphere’s mission. For a complete description of Board Members and staff, please visit BPBA.ca

We look forward to continuing the important work of protecting the Bruce Peninsula’s unique biodiversity and natural beauty. New members and volunteers are always welcome!
