Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home is the only non-profit, senior long-term care facility on the Northern Bruce Peninsula. We are at an exciting crossroads in our redevelopment planning stages, and are launching ‘Grow with Us’ with a goal of $15,000.00 which will be allocated towards essential next steps, including but not limited to: funding preliminary site plans, engineering consultant, archeological & environmental assessments, and building plans/architect.
Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home is inviting the community to ‘Grow with Us’, by supporting the sale of raised garden beds to be built by Bruce Men’s Shed volunteers. The Bruce Men’s Shed has built raised flower beds, which will be erected on-site in the front garden bed at Golden Dawn at the end of October. Raised beds will be sold for $150.00 or more, depending on the model chosen. Purchasers will choose their model, pay a deposit, and receive their choice of holiday or gift card describing the purchase, as well as seeds donated by Franken Farm. Raised garden beds purchased will be available for pick-up on site between May 4-19, 2025.
A planting demonstration on-site at Golden Dawn will be hosted by Megan Franken, of Franken Farm, in May, 2025. Please visit the Golden Dawn Sales Tent at 80 Main Street, Lion’s Head, and look for posters and signage promoting our event to show your support by purchasing a raised garden bed!
Thanks so much to our sponsors, without whom we would not be able to host this fundraiser: Doidge Building Centres Ltd. RONA Miller Lake, Franken Farms, Wilson’s Home Hardware, and Bruce Men’s Shed.
