Congratulations, Dyers Bay, on electing to have a fireworks-free Canada Day! How refreshing and encouraging.
I hope this sets a precedent.
Let’s do a poll of all citizens of Northern Bruce Peninsula, to see if this is something the majority of the peninsula would like to see in the future.
Fireworks, like circus elephants, are entertainment of a bygone era, and have no place in today’s environment. They terrorize wildlife, as well as pets, are a fire hazard in dry summers, and leave pollution in the form of debris. Most fireworks are made abroad, under despicable and dangerous conditions to the workers. The list goes on and on.
