Garden Off To A Good Start

Submitted by Joan Regan

Wow, it’s the end of May and the garden is off to a good start with all the rain. I want to get out in my garden more but with this darn vertigo I am nervous of falling… and I don’t bounce back as quick as I used to. So my new attire consists of knee pads, elbow pads and Pete’s old hockey helmet. Cute eh?

I got a coat of paint on most of the chairs that were looking a bit sad. I cheated and used spray paint – they look fine, but will they last the season? Hoping they do.

All the plants I potted up in my huge planters are looking very happy, so my pot in a pot method works very well. I filled the bottoms with old pots to take up space and not use too much soil.

Now if I can only find something to control that damn weed that is taking over my gardens. I hate it so much I forget its name. It is 100x worse than Gout weed.

The rain has stopped and I might just pour another coffee and take a garden stroll. Were is that darn helmet?

Happy Gardening,

Joni
