We hope everyone had a wonderful Family Day weekend! As we near the end of February, March Break is just around the corner. Although we haven’t had much of a winter (hopefully I didn’t speak too soon), I think we are still slowly getting ready for Spring! As I write this, the Grade 10 Outers have just left for their Winter Camp at the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre, so as soon as their Winter Camp is done, we are ready for Spring, or at least Spring Break!

BPDS has been celebrating love, kindness and inclusion all month with lots of activities around Valentine’s Day, the UNESCO club leading discussions about Black History Month in elementary classrooms, Student Council creating a Kindness Board where students can take or leave a kind note, and Pink Shirt Day which raises awareness around bullying. We have been focusing on the UN Global Goal: Reduced Inequalities and learning about ways to fill each other’s buckets and promote equity within our school and community.

We hope you have a wonderful March Break!

Important Dates:

-February 26 – Elementary Report Cards sent home

-February 28 – Pink Shirt Day – Wear pink to promote kindness

-March Break – March 11-15
