On 6 August 2023, the Lion’s Head beach was full of innovative and industrious talent as seven sandcastles and 20 sand sculptures were created, with an additional 14 sand creations built by kids under 10.

There were a total of 41 entries in 3 categories: Sandcastles, Sculptures and under 10 years. Each creation had to be between 6 feet by 6 feet, and could not include any man-made items. Three winners were chosen in each category while every child under 10 years who participated in the competition was given a plush toy.
