SERVICE – WE ASSIST, NURTURE, SUPPORT

The Peninsula SWANS hosted our major Fashion Show fundraiser on May 11th, after a 3 year pandemic interruption, and we are so pleased to announce that it was SOLD OUT.

Our Club spent many months navigating obstacles to make the show happen BUT it did and it was a huge success!

This event is always a TEAM effort and this year was no exception. The members gathered at the arena in Lion’s Head, starting on the Wednesday, decorating and making all the final arrangements and many returned on the Thursday morning to help with food prep and any unfinished items. Everyone returned for the Thursday event and cleanup. The fundraiser is a lot of work but also a lot of fun. This event really nurtures the feeling of TEAM spirit for our Club.

The Community really supports us in this effort. The show featured fashions from Verna’s in Tobermory. Verna’s has been participating in our show for many years, and this year there was a special treat with Susan, Verna’s daughter, trying her hand at modelling. Way to go Susan!

The show had 2 new stores showing their fashions. We were so pleased to welcome Classie Casual Boutique and The Shops at 84 Main. The fashions and models were fabulous and we cannot thank the stores enough for their assistance in making this fundraiser happen.

It was a great evening with lots of laughs!

The Club wants to say thanks also to all the generous donors for the Silent Auction Table items, the Rotary Club, the arena staff, Mary from The Booth, and the Municipality.

A big thank you to all those that were able to join us that evening, we really appreciate it!
