On Saturday June 17th from 10 am to 2 pm, at the Chi-Cheemaun Festival in Tobermory, you are invited to the Biosphere Association’s Electric Vehicle Show and Tell. It is your chance to see a variety of electric vehicles and talk with their owners:
• Answer your questions about a driver’s real life driving experiences.
• Discuss the common concerns people mention about the production of EVs and their impact on the electrical grid.
• Learn the facts about the environmental benefits of driving electric.
Thanks to Ethan Meleg of Parks Canada, you will have a first-hand look at the Ford 150 Lightning – an all-electric pickup truck.
The top 4 reasons to drive an electric vehicle:
• They are fun to drive! With instant torque, and a quieter, smooth ride, EVs are a better driving experience.
• Fuel costs are 30% of the amount you pay for a gas-powered vehicle, or less.
• Maintenance costs are low. EV’s require no regular oil changes and brakes last longer. They are much simpler without a transmission, timing belt, exhaust system, spark plugs, fuel injectors etc.
• Carbon emissions are much lower. In Ontario, over 90% of our electricity comes from carbon-free sources like nuclear, wind, solar and water power.
