The regular monthly meeting of the Peninsula SWANS was held at the Swan Lake Legion Hall on January 4, 2023. After enjoying a delicious dinner provided by the Legion Ladies, we got right down to business. As a fairly new club, we are continuing to set guidelines and procedures for future activities.
Treasurer Bev Miller updated the members on our finances and Secretary Roberta Mielhausen shared the Thank you cards received from the recipients of our earlier donations.
It is very EXCITING to announce that plans are in progress for a Spring Fashion Show. We will be modifying the format from previous years but one thing will stay the same – it will be fun, fun, fun!! So, mark May 11, 2023 on your calendars and stay tuned for more details.
Our Club is growing! Three new members were inducted at the January meeting. We welcome Gail Preston, Debi Reay and Barb Elder to our Club. Also, there was a prospective member that joined us and we are hopeful that she enjoyed the experience and will become a member.
One of the highlights at the meeting was that Dannah Oliver was sworn in as the Director in Perpetuity by Past President Jane Clayton. Dannah is one of the original members of the former Lioness Club that started in 1979. Over the 40-plus years, Dannah has worked hard for our Club, plus on many other community fundraising efforts. She is always a pleasure to work with and we are so fortunate to have her vast experience to assist us with our projects. Hats off to Dannah!
