Overwhelming Generosity of Lions Head & Area

Submitted by Lion’s Head and District Food Bank

This is the second time we have held a Stuff the Cruiser day this year and again it exceeded our expectations.

Thank you to OPP Auxiliary Officers Julia & Kevin as well to Kyle & Kara Hellyer along with their staff at Hellyer’s Foodland for preparing all the bags to stuff the cruiser with. Another thank you to the food bank volunteers for unloading and stocking the shelves.

There were 72 $10 bags and 71 $15 bags purchased that day. The food collected, along with the pre-packaged bags added up to a total weight of 1,190 lbs! This equals out to $1,101 (purchased bags) plus $230.25 in cash donations for a total of $1331.25 that will go to our local Food Bank.

The Lion’s Head Food Bank provides 28 families with monthly food hampers and we have 47 Christmas Hampers that will be distributed this year.
