Bruce Peninsula District School’s Elementary Graduation Ceremony — the first public ceremony since 2019 — was held at the school on Monday, June 27, 2022.
The evening began with a group photo at the lighthouse, followed by ceremony, awards and presentations at the school with Grade 8 teacher Melissa Rosenburg acting as emcee. Presentations included awards for excellence in each subject area and for other aspects of citizenship, plus school letters and diplomas.
Lexy Klerks won the Art award; Excellence in Drama went to Jordan McMann. Bronwyn Stanton was recognized for Excellence in English. Jordan McMann was presented with the French award, Xavier Andino-Rodriguez with the Geography award, Carly Burbridge with the History award and Jaxon Quesnel with the Math award. Excellence in Music went to Quintin Janknegt, Excellence in Science to Mady Raney; the Phys Ed Awards went to Shiloh McNair and Michael Rouse.

The CUPE Award was presented to Carter Daries and the Leadership Award to Myles Gambecort. Erica Thompson received the Ontario Principal’s Council Award; the Sense of Humour Award went to Reece Lozon, the UNESCO Global Citizenship Award to Bronwyn Stanton. The Greatest Improvement Award was presented to Trace Morrison; Payton Cawthorne received the Citizenship Award.
The Scholastic Award went to Carly Burbridge and the General Proficiency Award to Ellie Robbins. Hunter Rankin received the Growth Mindset and Perseverance Award. The Bruce Power Award was presented to Austin Kerton-Moir and the Agriculture Award went to Erica Thompson.
The Celtic Trip Awards went to students who stepped outside their comfort zones; the winners were Lilly Smith and Brianna Klerks.

Valedictorians were Carly Burbridge and Xavier Andino-Rodriguez, followed by a slideshow compiled by Erica Thompson and Ellie Robbins.
The ceremony was followed by a student dance.
