As we as a group have been moving out of pandemic mode with mandates being lifted and everyone breathing a sigh of relief; it seems that the virus has other plans. Omicron has brought forth a whole bunch of infections and has spread like wildfire throughout the province and country. Unfortunately, this time we here on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula were not so lucky to sidestep this latest wave. However, we are still very fortunate that we hadn’t been caught up in infections earlier and with more severe forms of Covid. Still this is a good reminder to all of us that while mandates may be relaxed it is up to each and everyone of us to be vigilant and keep our own health and welfare foremost in our minds.
Family of Veterans interred at Dunk’s Bay Cemetery are being approached about purchasing a marker for the gravesite. The markers are a metal plate 3¼” x 4” mounted on a 11½” metal spike. Proudly made in Canada, the cost to purchase would be $25.00. There is a marker at the branch should you wish to view it in person.
There has been good feedback on this initiative with a number of people showing interest. If you are interested in purchasing a marker for your family member or sponsoring a marker for one of the 125 Veterans interred at Dunk’s Bay, please contact Doug Smith at dsmith@amtelecom.net
Need Some Extra Income?
The branch is looking for a part-time (approx. 10 hours/week or less) bartender primarily for Saturday nights from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. You must have a valid Smart Serve certificate. If you are interested please send your resume to secretary@tobermorylegion.org

• Euchre – Friday, April 22 at 7:00 pm. Cost $5.00. Come on out to play some cards.
• General Membership Meeting – Tuesday, May 10 at 8:00 pm. If you are a member, come to the meeting.
• Meat Draws – every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. All are welcome; come on out! Cost is $7.00 for 3 draws, plus the bonus draw.
• Bingo – every Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Tobermory Community Center run by the Ladies Auxiliary.
• Darts for Fun – every Thursday at 7:30 pm; cost is $2.00 and ten cents to the duck if you are so lucky!
Branch Hours are Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Please maintain distance and use hand sanitizer. Also feel free to wear a mask if that makes you more comfortable. Thank you.
