Submitted by The Meeting Place

While lots of behind the scenes work, essential services and outdoor activities have been happening at The Meeting Place during the past partial shut down, we are now opening up more of our regular programs and services to the public with enthusiasm and optimism. There will still be some Covid precautions in place.

As of the week of March 7th , here is what’s open:

• Gym – Wednesdays 10-2pm, Thursdays and Fridays 10-4pm drop in to register or re-register and sign waiver; try out the new upgraded Nordic treadmill.

• Community Groups’ meeting space; look at the calendar of events and bookings under Facility on the website and use the on-line Booking Form to book an open time for Escarpment Board Room

Community Information & Resource Coordination (CIRC) – Phone Karla at 519-596-2313 Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays

• Good To Go Meal kit pickup – continues on Thursdays 11 – 1:00pm

• Eat Local pick-up – continues on Thursdays 11 – 1:00 pm

The Gym @ TMP

The Gym @ TMP has been essentially closed for 2 years so there is a need to have everyone interested in using the gym and fitness equipment now to register or re-register, sign a waiver and ensure you know how to safely use and clean the equipment. Please come in to do this when staff are available Wednesdays 10-2pm, Thursdays or Fridays 10-4pm or e-mail info@tobermorymeetingplace.com to set up an alternate time. Please do not use the gym or equipment until you have registered.

The Gym at Tobermory Meeting Place is available Wednesdays 10-2pm, Thursdays and Fridays 10-4pm drop in to register or re-register and sign waiver; try out the new upgraded Nordic treadmill.

NP CoWork Space

NP CoWork Space @ The Meeting Place opened in the fall of 2021 but is still relatively new to the community. Entrepreneurs and sole proprietor business owners are invited to visit The Meeting Place Thursdays and Fridays, 10 – 4pm and see what’s on offer to support your business and create a unique co-work environment.

What is CoWorking? A co-working location is more than just a shared office with professionals from various sectors. It’s a space where things happen. It’s where a community of people come together to share ideas, projects, resources and knowledge. It’s a lifestyle and a new way of working based on collaboration. It’s the present and it’s the future in both rural and urban areas.

What Resources does TMP have to offer? Besides the usual WiFi, printing and various comfy and efficient workspaces, there is a fantastic art/photography printer, audio/video tech help, system navigation, gym space for exercise, access to a talent pool of co-workers and facilitators and there is always great brewed coffee ready.

Community Information & Resource Coordination (CIRC)

CIRC has some new resources to consider if you need to discuss. Transportation is still a challenge for those living in the Northern Bruce without a car or without the money for gas to get to out of town appointments. TMP does not have drivers for appointments but we have a small fund to help with one-time transportation costs. Call 519-596-2313 to discuss.

Housing resources have always been available through Bruce County Housing. Sometimes distance to services has been a barrier. TMP has developed a closer working relationship with the Bruce County Housing staff and some resources for tenants can be accessed closer to home by contacting Karla at TMP.
