Emergency eye care is worth investing in for Miller Lake resident, Bev Miller. “My mom had cataract surgery in her mid thirties, and she was left with very poor vision for the rest of her adult life” Bev says. “My dad had glaucoma and I have early stages of it too, and my best friend, Ida Robinson has Macular Degeneration.”

“Of all of the five senses that we have, eyesight is not something we can live without. So when I heard that one of the items on the Lion’s Head Hospital wish list for 2022 was emergency eye care equipment, I felt that this was something that I really could get behind and wanted to support this important health care device.”

The particular piece of equipment is called a Slit Light & Table, and it will ensure that patients who present with urgent eye issues will not have to travel to Wiarton or Owen Sound Hospitals for care. Bev has provided half of the funds required for this equipment by donating $5,000.00 to Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation.
