Bruce Peninsula OPP Report: Police Investigating Serious Assault At Sauble Beach – Suspect Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On August 25, 2021 at approximately 10 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a stabbing on Main Street in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

One person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have arrested and charged a 19 year old from Etobicoke with Aggravated Assault.

The accused has been held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing scheduled for August 26, 2021 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

Grey Bruce OPP, along with members of the Grey Bruce OPP Crime Unit, continue to investigate the incident.

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT SAUBLE BEACH

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On August 18, 2021 at approximately 9 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an impaired driver that had gotten their vehicle stuck on Sauble Beach. 

Police arrived on scene and the driver was placed under arrest. The driver was transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment, where further tests were administered.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 27 year old from Saugeen First Nation with the following offences:

-Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and

-Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), and

-Driving while under suspension

The accused must attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 8, 2021.

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN DRUGS AND WEAPONS CHARGES

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On August 20, 2021 at approximately 7 p.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Division Street, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula. 

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have arrested charged a 37 year old from the Town of South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

-Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, and

-Four counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and

-Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking, and

-Possession of a schedule IV substance for the purpose of trafficking

The accused was held pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 21, 2021.

POLICE SEEKING PUBLICS ASSISTANCE TO IDENTIFY BREAK AND ENTER SUSPECTS

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On August 14, 2021, the Grey Bruce OPP began investigating a report of a break and enter to a local business on Main Street in Sauble Beach.

The break and enter is believed to have occurred between midnight and 2 a.m. on August 13, 2021. The Grey Bruce OPP have released the following photos and are appealing to the public for any information surrounding this matter. The faces of both suspects have been obscured due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Suspect one is a Caucasian male with short dark hair, wearing teal blue swimming shorts, black shoes and riding a black bicycle.

Suspect two is a Caucasian female, with shoulder length brown or dark blonde hair, wearing a purple bathing suit, jean shorts and carrying a backpack.

POLICE INVESTIGATING A STRING OF INCIDENTS AT SAUBLE BEACH – Youth Arrested and Charged

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On August 5, 2021, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of window that had been broken at a local business located on Main Street in Sauble Beach.

On August 6, 2021 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Grey Bruce OPP arrested and charged a 16-year-old youth from Hamilton with the following offences:

-Mischief under $5000

-Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose

The identity of the charged party cannot be revealed under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The youth was released and must attend the Owen Sound Ontario Court of Justice on September 14, 2021.
