Staff would like to recognize our year end in a slightly different way this year! The 2019-2020 school year was an exceptional one and, although we were out of the classrooms for some of it, students continued to persevere and work on their learning in different formats.
We were lucky enough to have many dedicated volunteers this year that we wanted to recognize here. Breakfast club volunteers included: Maureen Sloat, Megan Elliott, Carolyn Holmes, and Wendy Perkes, our After School Sports Club included both Sara Evans & Melissa Lyons, to Jennifer Cuffe for leading the SOAR program after school each week, and to our dedicated literacy helper Judi McLeod. We thank each and every one of you for your time and commitment to the students.
We now would like to recognize our students. First, we give out a bus monitor award to the person who consistently helped out by taking the bus folder and assisted on the bus when required. This year the award goes to Bentley Andress. Congratulations!
The second award is a leadership award. Each year, St. Edmund’s Public School presents a Principal’s Award for Student Leadership to a deserving student. This year we are excited to announce and would like to congratulate Aria Pitul in receiving this award. Aria is a grade two student who consistently demonstrates leadership skills both within her own classroom and within the school. Aria was always ready, able and eager to help out the JK/SK students with jackets, snowpants, etc before going outdoors to play or during dismissal time. In addition Aria was always willing to read to others, complete morning announcements, tidy up the technology in the classroom, help ensure gym equipment was neatly stored and would often be observed helping out others in her own classroom, especially in math. Congratulations Aria, and best of luck next year!”
Finally, there are photos below with what the students have said they aspire to be when they grow up as well as a favourite memory/trip/school year moment.
Wishing everyone a safe and healthy summer!
