For those who have registered for Easter Hampers at the Tobermory Food Bank, they will be ready for pick up on Thursday April 9th between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the Meeting Place. There will be a protocol in place for the safety of everyone and you will be guided through it by our volunteers.
We have always appreciated the wonderful support of our community, but the donations that we have received in the past month have been amazing. Individuals, businesses and organizations that have contacted us and asked how can we donate and then following through in the most generous way. We have also had support offered to us by the United Way, the Municipality and Bruce Power Corporation. The Grey Bruce Poverty Task Force keeps in constant touch to advise of what help is available for those most vulnerable.
The Tobermory Food Bank could not function without our volunteers and we are most grateful to them in the selfless way they have come forward. In addition to those who have signed up to help, there is someone who is not an official volunteer of the Food Bank, but provides immeasurable support to our work. Jennifer Cuffe, who is the Resource Co-ordinator at the Meeting Place, has always been there to help us, but during this critical time, has been there for us in so many ways in figuring out how to keep our volunteers and clients safe. Jennifer created a protocol that works for everyone concerned.
We continue to operate on Tuesdays at the Meeting Place from 1:00-3:00 p.m. If you wish to donate, you can make a deposit to the Tobermory Food Bank account at Peacock’s, use e-transfer, or mail a cheque payable to Tobermory Food Bank and mail to Jennifer Dewey, 291 Eagle Rd., Tobermory ON N0H2R0. If you have any questions please call Linda at 519-596-2333, or Jim at 519-375-7010.
