8th Annual Taste of India Dinner to Feature Cuisine of South India

A Taste of India returns to delight us for the eighth year on Friday, April 3 at the Lion’s Head Arena community room. 

This year, we will be featuring the cuisine of South India! South Indian food ranges in flavours from spicy to sour to sweet and is traditionally served on a banana leaf! The highlight of the menu this year will be lamb biryani served with raita (yogurt, herbs and aromatics) and various other delicious side dishes. 

A Taste of India is a fundraiser for the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre daycare in Lion’s Head. Proceeds raised from the event help to keep child care expenses down for our young working families.

All of the homemade food is prepared and served by volunteers that are committed to this community building event and to the Family Centre. 

We would like to thank Anita from DeJong Acres for donating the lamb, Hellyer’s Foodland for donating produce at cost, and Miller’s Dairy for donating the milk for the homemade yogurt!

Doors open at 6:00pm for cocktails and dinner is served at 7 p.m.

PS: If you are going to the Sources of Knowledge Forum this year at the end of April, there will be another Indian meal served. This meal will be entirely plant based, so no meat or dairy. We are calling this dinner SPICY PLANTS!
