Submitted by St Edmunds School Council
The students at St Edmunds Public School in Tobermory are enjoying their newly installed mud kitchen.
Organized by the parent council, the mud kitchen project was funded in part by the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.
The goal of the mud kitchen was to enhance the St Eds playground with an activity that promotes imagination and creativity in outdoor free play. It provides the opportunity for sensory stimulation while students explore, experiment and observe using natural materials. The kitchen offers year-round (it will also be used as a snow kitchen!) role play that reinforces the message it’s OK to get dirty!

Thank you to Project Coordinator Danielle Vaccari, Will King, who built the structure, and to all the volunteers who worked hard to make this happen.
The mud kitchen will be open for the community to use outside of school hours.
