Bruce Peninsula District School was thrilled to have Kristen Hargis work with staff and students for 4 weeks this spring. Kristen is a graduate student in the School of Environmental Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan. She is studying practices and climate change actions in the education field. After hearing about several UNESCO schools across Canada, she choose our K- grade 12 school to use as her case study. Kristen joined in on field trips, school meetings, interviewed staff and students, held focus group discussions and observed classes across all ages and subject areas. She was a wonderful addition to our school and her presence gave us an opportunity to reflect on our practices and think about next steps. We all look forward to her final published results which can take about a year to put together.
