A special thank you to the Wiarton Family Physicians for generously providing the cash prizes for this year’s Hooked on Health lottery. The care that our doctors provide to our community reaches far beyond the hospital corridors and exam rooms.
Grand prize winner Jim Brown was ecstatic when he heard the news; “My wife and I left urban life a number of years ago, retiring to a rural existence in Oliphant. Since moving here, we have found ourselves in need of the local healthcare services more than once. We are always so impressed by the exceptional quality of healthcare available to all of us here on the Peninsula. During our stays at the Wiarton Hospital, we have received the most professional and personable ‘small town’ care from the entire staff of our local hospital, which played such a huge part in our recovery. I’m always happy to support local hospital fundraising efforts, and I am totally shocked and thrilled to be this year’s Hooked on Health Lottery grand prize winner! The goodwill the Wiarton Family Physicians have demonstrated by donating all of the cash prizes for this lottery has inspired me to donate half of my winnings back to Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation – to help keep excellent healthcare close to home.”
We hope that the winners enjoy their prizes.
We would like to sincerely thank everyone that participated in our lottery. You are all winners for supporting the purchase of medical equipment used to provide excellent health care services for Bruce Peninsula patients. This year BPHS Foundation’s focus will concentrate on Patient Monitoring Equipment, Cardiac Monitoring Equipment, a Point of Care Complete Blood Count & Differential, bed/mattress/stretcher replacement and a regional MRI. These are just a few of this year’s priorities.
