Letter: Venus Cat Family Update – Twelve Kittens Need Forever HomesBefore the Snow Flies

38

November 4, 2025… it is getting cold at night and the garage, turned into a nursery, where the Venus kittens are living, needs to be heated. With luck the last twelve kittens will find their forever homes before the snow flies.

On October 18th another fifteen Venus cats/kittens were neutered/spayed. To date 50 cats/kittens have been done; 13 adults were returned to the family where the colony lives; 35 have been adopted; two are available for adoption now. By the end of November the bulk of the cats/kittens from the Venus colony will have been fixed.

So it’s wonderful to be able to say there is a huge light at the end of the tunnel for these Venus kittens. However, the colony continues to require, for just a bit longer, your support with kitten food, both wet and dry. Donations for the Venus cat family can be dropped at Peninsula Pet Supplies, 2826 Hwy 6 in Ferndale (tell them it is for the Venus Cat Family).

We continue to arrange play sessions; interaction with humans is so important for their development. If you are interested in visiting and playing with kittens please let me know.

If you would like to adopt or just talk about adopting options, please email Karen Livick at livick@eastlink.ca or call 519-793-3055.

Plus stay tuned… we are evolving and hope to morph into helping community cats of the Northern Bruce Peninsula. More on this in my next update.
