The reopening of the Friendship Club in Lion’s Head began as a heart-filled day, on Monday, February 14, Valentine’s Day. Our hearts were full and happy on this wonderful day. Happy to be with new friends, happy to have a hot soup lunch on a cold day and happy to be out of our homes after two long years. We had a great turnout and 15 new members joined.

We are now on schedule again with different cards on different days. We play Monday and Friday afternoons and Wednesday evenings. We have started our soup lunches and light suppers, which are followed by a fun day of games, cards or whatever you’d like to do. You can even just visit. This is a great time for people that are a little rusty who want to come out and learn new games or cards.

March 1st was Shrove Tuesday. We had a great turnout. We had pancakes, sausages and fresh fruit followed by bingo games.

Our coming events include our soup day at 12 noon on Thursday, March 10 and a light supper at 5 PM on Saturday, March 26. Both will be followed by fun and games.

Spring is coming and along with it is Easter. Our Easter dinner is planned for Saturday, April 9 at 5 PM. All of our activities: bridge, euchre, bid euchre, dinners and lunches are open to both members and non-members for a nominal charge. Many of our events are now being supported by the North Peninsula Bottle Drive.

If you’re interested in any of our events or plan on coming out to any of our meals, please RSVP for the meals to Maxine Catteau at 519-375-0959 by text or phone, or email us at: maxlar@hotmail.com or lionsheadfriendshipclub@gmail.com
