Guest artist Joanne Brouwer is a self taught contemporary and impressionist artist. She operates out of her personal gallery space, the Artistic Roots Farm Studio, located on the Saugeen-Bruce Peninsula. Her work focuses heavily on capturing natural light, seasonal transformations and the scenic water, forests and farm life. She works extensively with acrylic paint on gallery wrapped canvas with a limited pallet to build rich texture. Joanne enjoys painting “en plein air” as well as in her studio. Her work embraces a style that represents the natural beauty of the Saugeen-Bruce Peninsula and its expansive coastlines and forests.

Guest artist Bev Morgan has taught her passion of watercolours for over thirty years in her Hanover community, three cruise lines, Southampton Art School and Udemy online courses with over 8800 students. She uses watercolours traditionally and incorporates watercolour into other mediums, such as photography, batik, and scratch art. Every year, she challenges herself to create a new series of subject matter. This year her watercolour and batik paintings of local lighthouses on rice paper will be exhibited and for sale at the Red Schoolhouse Gallery.

During July and August, the Red Schoolhouse Gallery is open every Thursday to Monday from 11am to 5pm. The gallery is located at 2866 Hwy 6 in Ferndale, ON.
