Missing Person at Lion’s Head Provincial Park  Located Deceased

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On April 20, 2023, at 4:09 P.M., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a missing person on Moore Street in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

On April 21, 2023, just after 10 a.m., members from the West Region Emergency Response Team located the missing individual deceased.

Foul play is not suspected.

No further information will be provided.

There was an increased police presence near the Lion’s Head Provincial Park, and members of the public were asked to avoid the area.

ONE ARRESTED FOLLOWING DISTURBANCE INVOLVING WEAPON

(NEYAASHIINIGMIING, ON) The Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police (NFP) have arrested one individual following an incident on Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation that saw an increased police presence.

On April 19, 2023, at 9:35 A.M., The Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police, and the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance involving a weapon on Kaikaiknong Crescent in Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.

Members from the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the OPP Canine Unit, and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit were mobilized, however cancelled after officers on scene took one individual into custody.

The Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police have charged a 43-year-old from Hamilton with the following offences:

-Assault cause bodily harm

-Mischief under $5,000 (two counts)

-Uttering threats (two counts)

-Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

DECEASED IDENTIFIED IN SBP DEATH INVESTIGATION

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Grey Bruce detachment members have identified two deceased parties in connection with a death investigation in South Bruce Peninsula. 

On April 3, 2023, at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of Spring Creek Road and Legion Road in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula after two deceased individuals were located.

The investigation proceeded under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.

An investigation into the circumstances around their death continues by the Grey Bruce Crime Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

INDIVIDUAL FACING BREAK AND ENTER CHARGES

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged an individual following a break and enter.

On April 1, 2023, at 6:38 P.M., the Grey Bruce OPP responded to a report of a break and enter on Elm Street in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

During the course of the investigation, officer were able to identify an accused person and they were placed under arrest.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 38-year-old from South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

-Break, enter a dwelling house

-Mischief

-Theft under $5,000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
