There has never been a better time to invest in an EV. With gas prices in Ontario recently hitting record highs of over $2.00 per litre and the federal government’s new Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) now offering up to $5,000 in incentives, there has never been a better time to consider going electric.
The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association (BPBA) invites the community to two upcoming information sessions to separate EV fact from fiction:
• Thursday, April 30, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Rotary Hall, Lion’s Head
• Tuesday, May 5, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Tobermory Community Centre
Attendees will learn how making the switch can drop personal vehicle emissions by 80-90% and slash fuel costs by up to 90%. While traditional gas engines operate at only 25% efficiency, EVs boast an impressive 95% efficiency rating.
Concerns about range and reliability will also be addressed. Typical EV ranges now span 400-500 km, and since 80% of charging happens conveniently at home, the need for public stations is lower than many realize. Safety data further reveals that EV fires are 20 times less frequent than those in gasoline vehicles.
Whether you are curious about battery life—which typically outlives the car—or winter performance, join us to discover why an EV is a smart investment for both your wallet and the Peninsula.
