The Friendship Club in Lion’s Head continues to be a hive of activity with many events keeping members busy.

Games Day on March 21 was a big success, with members enjoying a variety of games and cards. The next Games Day will take place on April 18 at 1 p.m. and will be a Trivia event, followed by a complimentary light supper for all participants. Please sign up at the club if you plan to attend.

The dinner scheduled for March 28 is already sold out.

There are also several trips planned in the coming months. The Belmore Maple Syrup Festival on April 9 will be a carpool event. The trip to the Stratford Theatre to see “Guys and Dolls” on April 27 is also sold out.

There are still a few tickets available for the trip to see “Sister Act” in Penetanguishene on June 11. The cost is $60, with a $20 deposit required, and transportation will be by school bus.

Plans are also underway for a Lunch Cruise on the Grand River on September 15. Transportation will be by school bus. The cost is $70 per person, with a $20 deposit required.

The next dinner will be held on April 25, featuring Chicken Parmesan, pasta, salad, tea, coffee and dessert. Tickets are $15 for members and $18 for non-members, and they sell out quickly.

The April lunch has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 16 at 12 p.m. due to a conflict with the Belmore trip. The cost for lunch is $8, and members are asked to sign up at the club.

As with all events, there is a facility fee of $3 for members and $4 for non-members.

Volunteers are always welcome to help with club events. If you would like to lend a hand, please check the sign-up sheets at the club.

The Board of Directors would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.
