Following the success of the 2025 Forum, Fire: Respect, Knowledge, Balance, the Sources of Knowledge Forum returns to its traditional spring schedule. The 2026 Forum will take place May 1–3 at the Parks Canada Visitors’ Centre in Tobermory.

This year’s theme, Invasive Species, will explore how we define “invasive,” why certain non-native species come to be labelled this way, and what those distinctions mean ecologically, socially, and culturally. Speakers will share research and lived experience spanning aquatic, wetland, and terrestrial ecosystems, examining plants, animals, and insects that are reshaping the Great Lakes biosphere. The weekend will also include a session looking beyond the Great Lakes, examining invasive species in a global context and their impacts on human societies.

We look forward to welcoming you for another timely weekend of conversation, learning, and connection. Looking for more information, email us at info@sourcesofknowledge.ca or visit our website, sourcesofknowledge.ca, which will be updated as details are available.
