was born in Wiarton on July 14, 1956 to parents, Patricia Sam and William Sam, and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in London, Ontario on Friday, July 11, 2025 at the age of 68. She spent her entire working career in Wiarton as an Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) and Canada Land Surveyor (CLS). In fact, she felt very privileged to be one of an historical group of the first half dozen or so female OLS’s and maybe even less than a handful of female CLS’s to graduate and practice land surveying. Her signature can be viewed over copious land survey documents regarding the Bruce Peninsula and Bruce County. She could have worked anywhere in the world but she loved the bush, she loved the uncomplicated life to be found on the Peninsula and she wanted to be close to her family. She leaves behind her loving husband of 45 years, Mario Guindon, her daughter Addasonne (Kenny Mc Cormack) and her sweetheart five-year-old grandchild, Avery McCormack. Kathryn was sister to Sandra Sam (Mangan), Marie Moore (Donald), and Kenneth Sam. Missed by many nieces and nephews who loved their Auntie.
