The 2025-26 season marks a new chapter for Bruce Peninsula Minor Hockey Association (BPMHA)—one filled with opportunity, enthusiasm, and a renewed commitment to delivering an exceptional hockey experience for our youth.
On behalf of the entire executive of BPMHA, we are proud to officially be operating as a registered non-profit organization. This important milestone strengthens our foundation and ensures that every decision we make is guided by our mission: to foster growth, development, teamwork, and a love of the game in every player who steps onto the ice.
This year, our executive is focused on making Bruce Peninsula Minor Hockey more engaging, inclusive, and community-driven than ever before. Whether your child is taking their first stride on skates or already a seasoned player, they’ll be supported by dedicated coaches, volunteers, and a leadership team that genuinely cares.
We are also making strategic investments in our kids—because they deserve the very best. This includes a robust player development program designed to elevate skills, build confidence, and enhance game play across all levels. We’re also investing in our volunteers by offering coaching development and training, ensuring every team has the tools and leadership needed to thrive. Our goal is simple: to create an environment where every child can succeed, grow, and fall in love with hockey for life.
But we can’t do this alone. We need your help—whether as a volunteer, sponsor, fan in the stands, or simply by encouraging more families to join our growing hockey community. When we work together, we create more than just strong teams—we build strong kids, strong families, and a strong Bruce Peninsula.
To our returning families: thank you for your loyalty and belief in our program. To new families considering joining us: we can’t wait to welcome you into our hockey family. Together, let’s make this season our best one yet.

Where the Money Goes
At Bruce Peninsula Minor Hockey, we know that every dollar matters—especially for families investing in their children’s sports experience. That’s why transparency is a core value in how we will operate as a non-profit organization. Each year, registration fees are carefully allocated to support the growth, safety, and development of our players, while ensuring we can keep the lights on and the ice ready.
Here’s how your registration dollars are spent:
• 50% – Ice Time
The largest portion of your fee goes directly toward ice rental. This ensures our players have access to quality facilities for practices and games throughout the season.
• 20% – Referees
Skilled, impartial officiating is essential to the game. We allocate one-fifth of our budget to paying certified referees who help keep games fair and safe.
• 10% – Insurance
Player safety is a top priority. Insurance protects our athletes, volunteers, and the association in case of injuries or unforeseen events.
• 7% – League Fees
These funds go to our governing league to cover things like scheduling, team registration, and participation in official programming.
• 4% – Player Development
This investment supports skills clinics and training tools that help players build their confidence and ability on the ice.
• 4% – Business Expenses
From website hosting to accounting software, these funds cover the behind-the-scenes costs that keep the association running smoothly.
• 3% – Uniforms
Each season, we will maintain and update jerseys and equipment as required to ensure every player is game-ready and proud to represent our community.
• 2% – Awards & Recognition
We reserve a small amount to celebrate achievements and sportsmanship at season’s end—a meaningful tradition that honors our athletes.
Our goal is to provide a rewarding hockey experience for every child, while being responsible stewards of the funds entrusted to us. Thank you for your ongoing support of grassroots hockey on the Bruce Peninsula.
Welcoming Jill Moffatt to BPMHA’s Player Development Team!
At Bruce Peninsula Minor Hockey Association, we believe that every young athlete deserves the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential on the ice. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our goalie program will continue this year with Jillian Moffatt. Jill will be joining our coaching staff this season as our dedicated goalie coach.
Jillian Moffatt is a record-setting Canadian goaltender and dedicated coach whose journey through collegiate, professional, and development hockey showcases her deep commitment to the sport. As the NCAA all-time saves leader with over 4,400 stops during her standout career at Lebanon Valley College, she went on to play professionally in Sweden with teams like Björklöven and Almtuna IS. Transitioning into coaching, Jill founded Grey Bruce Goaltending, where she trains and mentors young goalies across southwestern Ontario. Her coaching philosophy centers on building strong, supportive relationships with athletes while helping them build skills and confidence both on and off the ice. She is bringing world-class experience and leadership to grassroots hockey development. Her addition to our team reflects our strong belief in investing in the future of hockey on the Bruce Peninsula.
We’re committed to providing high-quality development opportunities for all our players, including those in specialized positions like goaltending. With Jillian on board, our young goalies will benefit from structured skill-building, mentorship, and focused training that will not only improve their performance but build their confidence on and off the ice.
We can’t wait for our players to learn from her experience, and we’re excited to see the impact she’ll have across all levels of our association. Please join us in welcoming Jillian back to the BPMHA family for the 2025-26 season —we’re proud to have her with us as we build a strong, inclusive, and competitive hockey community for years to come.
