Update on the Venus Cat Family… life does hold so many positive outcomes. It has been quite an eye opener watching our community step up and help these kittens and cats. Remember, the Venus Cat Family has seventy plus cats in need of help. To find so many caring for their welfare, wanting to do the best we can to find forever homes, well it has been a very moving and humbling experience to be part of this.
Thank you to each one of you that has dropped off food, donations, brought in old towels, bedding. I find cases of kitten food on my doorstep. Every little bit one can do is how we can make a difference!
Things are progressing. The first group of ten kittens will be neutered/spayed June 14th. We think we have ten kittens old enough, but it is a bit of a guess on the age of the kittens as the kittens intermingle. Will base our decision on size and weight and hopefully get it right. If we have any doubts, we’ll replace a kitten with an adult cat.
The idea is to find forever homes for the kittens once they are fixed. Kittens not initially adopted will be fostered until a permanent home can be found for them. The adult cats will return to the family.
Financial assistance, food and litter donations can be dropped off at Peninsula Pet Supplies, 2826 Hwy 6 in Ferndale (tell them it is for the Venus Cat Family). If you would prefer to e-transfer a donation please send it to Karen Livick, livick@eastlink.ca . If you would like to adopt a kitten please email Karen Livick at livick@eastlink.ca or call 519-793-3055.
