Tobermory Health Services Auxiliary (THSA) is excited to share that we will be hosting our annual fundraiser dance on Saturday September 28 at the Tobermory Community Centre, 8pm-midnight, doors open at 7pm.
Our fundraiser will go towards supporting a number of local health solutions both at the Family Health Team and for the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home. We will also be supporting our local Fire Department to purchase specialty firefighting boots necessary for our cold winters!
Last year’s event raised funds to purchase a portable EKG machine and a dermascope, which some of you may have already used. We will continue to assist with other needs as requested.
Robb Sharp & Lit’l Chicago (RS&LC) will be bringing the Blues to the Tobermory Community Center along with our special guest D.J. Max! Robb Sharp & Lit’l Chicago have been spreading “their style of Blues” across Canada and the US for nearly 30 years. Throughout their career they have played with a large number of legendary Blues artists such as Powder Blues, Downchild Blues Band, Bobby Rush and so many more. This five piece band consists of Robb Sharp on vocals and guitar, Harlin Braichit on drums, Wolf Van Waldow on Sax, Alex Duezman on bass and David Thomas on Keys and vocals. RS&LC are a throwback to the era of big grooves bringing their unique mix of Blues, Soul and R&B to enthusiastic audiences in Canada and the USA!
Our $5.00, 50/50 tickets will be fundraising to bring an IT Digital Enrichment Package to the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home. The IT Digital Life Enrichment Package allows their residents to:
– Make Zoom calls to families
– Virtual exercise & range of motion classes
– Therapy for residents with behavioural disorders & dementia
– Resident Life Enrichment opportunities
You could win $2,500 this year if we sell all of our 50/50 tickets!
