I have a comment about the proposed traffic light at Hay Bay Rd. and Hwy 6. This website (www.thepricer.org/traffic-light-cost/#google_vignette) has some good information about the cost of installing and maintaining traffic lights. Since it is the traffic discharge from the ferry causing this traffic problem, why is the municipality having to pay for the traffic light etc.?
There is also another interesting point. If there are some 150 vehicles discharging from the ferry, I am thinking by the time the first discharged vehicle reaches the problem road intersection there would still be vehicles exiting the ferry. If a traffic light stops this flow of traffic the discharge of vehicles off from the ferry will also stop; what then?
Will this traffic light only operate at times when the ferry is discharging cars or all year long?
