The Peninsula Family Health Team (Peninsula FHT) is pleased to announce the upcoming arrival of a new physician to the Northern Bruce Peninsula medical practice group.

Starting on October 1st, we will welcome Dr. Heather Reid to the Peninsula Family Health Team.

Dr. Reid served as a Medical Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces for more than 12 years, holds the rank of Major, and remains active in the Primary Reserves.

She will be a familiar face to many patients of the Peninsula FHT as she has served as a clinic Locum and Emergency department physician for the past eight years.

As she commences her full-time clinical practice here on the Peninsula, Dr. Reid will see rostered patients in the Lion’s Head and Tobermory clinic sites as well as the Golden Dawn Senior Citizen Home. She will also provide Emergency and Hospitalist care through the Grey Bruce Health Services – Lion’s Head site.

The Peninsula Family Health Team will be offering rostered patient spots with Dr. Reid to residents of MNBP who do not currently have a family physician and have been on our waitlist for care.

During a time in which we see shortages of family physicians challenging communities across the country, we are fortunate to work within a model of patient care that works not only to serve our broader communities but also to recruit and retain physicians to provide care across multiple settings including clinics, hospital, private homes and our long-term care facility.

Dr. Reid is joining an established group of management leaders, admin staff, nurses and physicians who are delighted to welcome her into the fold, further strengthening the dedicated and committed team of health professionals that work daily to improve the health of the Peninsula.

Welcome Dr. Reid!
