The Church of St Edmunds will be holding the BEST YARD SALE in Tobermory on Saturday, July 15th between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
Recently, many houses in the community have been sold and the sellers have most generously donated items they no longer need to the Church of St. Edmund’s yard sale. As I write this, there have been several unusual, interesting donations!
To list just a couple of pieces that have caught my eye: a “CAMEL’S SADDLE”, a very intriguing item! This is a beautiful four-legged wooden object with intricate inlay that, if you don’t own a camel, could be used as a very comfortable and interesting stool!
Another unusual item is a magnificent ANTIQUE ROLL-TOP DESK. I have seen a similar piece used as a liquor cabinet if you don’t need a desk, what a conversational piece this could be. Of course, it would make a fantastic desk where all the contents can be hidden when you close the top. (For ease of transportation, it comes in two pieces.)
Donations can be brought to the church up to and including Friday, 14th July between 10:00am to 4:00pm. People will be there ready to help you unload your contributions. We sort donations into groups and select items to feature at our “one of a kind” or “silent auction” tables. It is interesting to see what our creative organizers put together to make very noteworthy and fascinating silent auction pieces!
This year the proceeds from our sale will go to support “The Primary Place” right here in Tobermory. This is a much-needed, non-profit childcare establishment for young families in our community.
The Church of St. Edmunds is at the very end of Highway 6, at the Gap! Plan to be there at 9:00am this Saturday for the best bargains. NO EARLY BIRD SALES.
