Miller Lake RONA held a month-long fundraiser for the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre in Lion’s Head raising $4,017. The store was able to solicit donations at checkout, via email requests and from their major account holders.
Additionally, RONA hosted a charity BBQ along with members of the Day Care. The store also donated a BBQ which was won by a lucky patron.
Adam Judges, Campaign Coordinator says “it was great to see so many people support such a worthwhile cause”. Judges explained that the Corporate office offers opportunity for local stores to participate in fundraising activities, and matched half the monies raised by the local fundraising activity.
In 2021, the store donated funds to the Tobermory Meeting Place.
For 2022, Judges felt there was more opportunity to use the Corporate initiative and to fundraise for a local charity. The Bruce Peninsula Family Centre was selected as the recipient of the fundraiser dollars.
