The Pickleball Courts were full of action on May 28th & 29th as the Tobermory Pickleball Club welcomed Cameron Taylor from Taylored Pickleball Academy to provide development clinics for the weekend.
There were 10 clinics over the span of 2 days covering all ages and skill levels for a total of 72 people improving their level of skill, knowledge of the rules and strategy for the game.

The youth portion of the weekend was sponsored by the Friends of the Bruce District Parks Association. Friends is made up entirely of volunteers who work in their individual ways to support the overall mission of the group. There is a hands-on board of directors and a very active membership. Those who are not interested in the management side of things often engage in different ways; programs, festivals, lightkeeping duties are all assisted by members participating in ways that they enjoy best. New members and volunteers are always welcome. Check them out www.friendsofthebruce.ca .
The Pickleball Club is garnering a lot of interest from local residents, cottagers and youth with membership growing to 63 at the end May. Eight of the 24 youth that attended weekly sessions throughout the winter have come out to join the afternoon/evening play.
If you’re interested in trying the fastest growing sport in North America in a very social environment contact tobermorypickleballclub@gmail.com or drop by the Pickleball Courts during playing hours.
