MAGEE, Richard Warren (1943 – 2022) – Richard passed away peacefully at the Residential Hospice – Chapman House on Sunday May 8th after a brief battle with cancer, just short of his 79th birthday. Loving husband and best friend to Sally Gibson. Richard will be missed by his daughters, Lorie McCormick (Ryan) and Lisa Magee (Pete) and Sally’s son, Chris Meuleman (Gayle Anne). He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Carnie, Lynn Wellington, Ruth Ann Evagelinos (George), and Rhonda Simpson. Also survived by his grandchildren, Kylie Castro (Jon), Katelyn McCormick and Riley Hall (Candace). Richard was the fond Gramps (Grumps) to Brandon, Colin and Laura Meuleman. Memories of Richard, a great-grandpa, will be given to Eli Castro, Clara and Lincoln Hall. Extended family members: Tricia Flood (TJ) and their children, Madison, Thomas and Devin, Darrin Pickett (Cypress) and their son Case, Jen Varah, Paul Varah (Migha) and their son Minh will all have fond memories of Richard’s quirky humour. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Ruth McIntyre (2018) and Frank Magee (1974); his brother Allan (1985); brothers-in-law, Murray Carnie (2001), Lee Stocking (2003), and Marv Wellington (2015); and his grandson, Michael McCormick (2021). Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Wiarton Hospital and Chapman House for their compassionate care during his brief journey with cancer. The support of friends in Hope Bay for the family has been invaluable.
