Bruce Peninsula OPP Report: Charges Laid After Disturbance In Wiarton

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) On February 22, 2022 at approximately 8:15 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an aggressive individual on Mary Street in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Police arrived on scene and located the individual. Officers determined a criminal offence had taken place, and the individual was placed under arrest.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 29 year old from Owen Sound with the following offences:

· Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm

· Mischief

· Resist Peace Officer

The individual was held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody. They will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) On February 18, 2022 at approximately 6 p.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fail to remain collision on Highway 6 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

Police located the vehicle a short time later. Officers detected signs of impairment, and the driver was placed under arrest. They were transported to a local police detachment for further testing.

The Grey Bruce OPP have charged a 41 year old from Owen Sound with the following offences:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

· Resist peace officer

· Assault a Peace Officer

· Fail to remain

The accused was released and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.

POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN TRACTOR

(GREY BRUCE ON) – The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a stolen tractor.

The tractor is described as a red 2020 Mahindra 6075 tractor, similar to the one pictured in the photo below. The vehicle identification number (VIN) is 60754FPAL.

This tractor is part of an ongoing property crime investigation, and Police believe that some of the branding on the tractor may have been removed.
