The walking group, hosted by The Meeting Place, has started up and we are running every Tuesday in February at 1pm. The walks have been enjoyable with each trail and destination a different experience. We encourage everyone to come out and get some fresh air and socialize!

Getting outside in the winter is a great way to stay active while exploring nature in our own backyard. We are happy to see people come out and enjoy the trails with us, especially anyone who doesn’t have someone to walk with or who is new to the community.

The walks are on beginner level trails in the area. Walks will be running unless there is extreme cold alerts or inclement weather.

Stay tuned on social media for upcoming recreation programming happening this month at The Meeting Place as things gradually reopen.

Our upcoming walks are as follows:

• February 8 @ Shining Rainbow Deer Sanctuary – 446 Cape Hurd Road

• February 15 @ Dunks Bay – Start at 20 Centennial Drive (The Meeting Place)

• February 22 @ Barney Lake – Just before L turn on Cape Hurd Road

• March 1 @ Little Dunks Bay Lookout – meet along Bay St at the Princess Hotel
