Photo: Celebrating National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21, Priscilla Tobey (right) joined Marty Oblack of Tacomory (left) to offer tacos made with traditional PowWow frybread. Tacomory made the “fixins”; Priscilla made the frybread according to a traditional recipe.
Proceeds were donated to ArtsCan Circle, a charity organization that collaborates with northern indigenous communities and connects artists with indigenous youth in creative art workshops. Priscilla Tobey also told stories and led a drum circle for local drummers and visitors.
