In 1997 Jack D. Adams received permission to develop a parkette and erect a Park Cairn identifying the parkette as the Glen Warren Park, in memory of the second son of Alfus King Adams on the north side of Cameron Lake. Local residents and businesses were asked to contribute to the project and funds were held by the municipality and receipts were issued. I had donated $200.00 to the project in June of 2000.
I recently wrote to the municipal council requesting they refund my donation with interest since the project never came to fruition. While I did receive my initial donation the municipality indicated that they do not pay interest on donations.
I would encourage anyone who made a donation to the Glen Warren Park to request that your donation be reimbursed.
