Lioness Club Treasurer, Bev Miller (above left) presents a cheque to Jeannie Finger (centre), Program Manager, and Michele Bell (right), Executive Director of the Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living. The donation from the Lioness Club is to assist the BPA Community Living organization to support people in the community who have very little support in their lives.
While the organization is based in Wiarton, it also services the Bruce Peninsula from Tobermory to Sauble Beach. The Lioness donation came from funds from the Silent Auction held at the Lioness Christmas Bazaar. The Lioness asked that a portion of the funds be allocated for Christmas gifts to those in the Supported Independent Living program run by the Community Living organization. Thanks to the Lioness donation, Community Living was able to give out gift cards worth $25 each.
The Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living’s Mission Statement promotes a holistic approach where all individuals can participate as equal citizens in community life. The organization welcomes donations to assist them in their work. You can donate by using a donate button on their website www.BPACL.ca, or contact them at 519-534-0553.
