This year marks the 9th Anniversary of the Tobermory Trail Race Weekend. Trail runners from all over Ontario come to participate in this event, which takes place on some of the most beautiful and challenging terrain of the Bruce Trail.
All runners will gather at the Cenotaph in Tobermory for the pre-race safety briefing at 7:15am. The 42 km marathon course starts at the Cenotaph, proceeds to the campground at Cyprus Lake, and returns to Tobermory, generally following the Bruce Trail. Runners for the half-marathon will travel by bus to their starting location at the campground, while runners for the 7 km race will be taken to Little Cove for their run along the course. The finish line will be well-marked and located on Bay Street in Tobermory, and awards will be presented at the Bruce Trail Northern Terminus, also located on Bay Street.
The weekend event includes a 5 km run on Flowerpot Island on Sunday.
The Tobermory Trail Race Weekend supports Tobermory Primary Place Child Care Centre. The event raised over $14,000.00 in 2024!
Spectators are welcome at the finish line and along the streets of Tobermory. Spectating on the trails is a bit more challenging as the trail is often narrow and steep.
