Letter: Pleased with Councillors Who Voted No to Lindsay Rd 40 Tower

440

Nice to read that at least three councillors followed their stated criteria “all five council members support IMPROVING cell service”. Understanding that the signal follows a straight line and does not make a sudden 90 degree turn is important. The location on Lindsay 40 will make no improvement in Dyers Bay or Cape Chin (and probably at best only a 2-4 km radius around the tower).

The question now remains, what were the reason(s) why the other two chose to go against their stated criteria? Correct me if I’m wrong, but the vast majority of folks that want this are in the Dyers Bay and Cape Chin area who have no cell signal/home phone.

Choices I have not yet seen discussed, and would service both these areas well:

-the end of the Dyers Bay dock

-the abandoned gravel pit (now a parking lot) on the road down into the Dyers Bay.
