Congratulations to Gloria Shantz of Miller Lake, winner of the 2023 Bruce Peninsula Telephone Directory Cover Photo Contest. Their photo of a Baby Snowshoe Hare was chosen as the best of many local photos submitted this year.
Fourteen-year-old Gloria Shantz enjoys doing art, photography, reading, and exploring nature.
“My family moved up on the Peninsula in late 2017, and ever since then, we have come to love it more and more every year.” says Shantz. “I especially love the Bruce Peninsula in the summer, with all the free space it has to walk, hike, bike, and explore!”
The photo of the Snowshoe Hare was taken in Gloria’s backyard on a sunny spring day. “There were three baby Hares playing in our yard that my whole family enjoyed watching.” explained Shantz.
As winner of the Phone Book Cover Photo Contest, Tobermory Press donates $300.00 to the charity of choice. Gloria has chosen the Crossroads Victory Church in Owen Soundas the recipient.
“I will be donating the prize money to Crossroads Victory Church in Owen Sound. The friendly members of this church have been a great blessing to my family as they openly share the wonderful love of Jesus Christ.”
The Bruce Peninsula Telephone Directory is mailed to every home and business on the Bruce Peninsula from Tobermory to Hepworth. 12,000 directories are being distributed this year.
