Photo: This picture was found behind a photo that the Reverend Bob Mansfield, the Padre of Lion’s Head Legion, gave to George Bowman, another legion member, about 10 years ago of the unveiling of a plaque on Sunday, June 28, 1964 at Lion’s Head Memorial Park to commemorate Sergeant John Pearson’s Victoria Cross won at the charge at Gwalior during the Indian mutiny June 17, 1858. John Pearson VC died April 18, 1892 and is buried at Eastnor Cemetery. The identity of the young lady in the photo is unknown – Mr Bowman hopes one of our readers might be able to identify her so that the photo can find its way home.
