Patricia Alice Poucher (nee Tillson)

In Our Hearts Forever – Patricia Alice Poucher (nee Tillson) affectionately known as “The Frog Lady”, passed away in March 2022 at age 89. Pat graduated from the University of Western Ontario as a Registered Nurse and earned a Fine Arts Degree from Fanshawe College. Many will know Pat as the owner of The Frog & Nightgown Gift Shop (formerly the Purple Turtle) which she ran with a passion well into her 80’s. For Pat, The Frog & Nightgown was more than a summer business. It was her much loved hobby and her social life. It kept Pat busy and engaged all year round, brightened her days & kept her and her late husband, Mel, bustling with life. Pat truly loved Hope Bay and the people there, staying longer each year until Mel’s retirement when they decided to settle at the Bay full time.  Pat was truly an artist at heart who used her garden, store, and painting as mediums for pursuing her passion. Her goal was to provide an enjoyable experience to those who visited. Thanks to all who stopped by and contributed to her world. Pat leaves behind her treasured children, Carol Poucher-Urbshott (late husband Fred Urbshott), John Poucher (wife Karen Arts), Michele-Poucher Cho (husband Peter Cho), and her grandchildren who were a huge part of her life; Zoe Arts Poucher, Taylor Urbshott, Austin, Trisha, and Jarrett Cho. On Saturday, June 25th from 12 to 4 p.m, a “Come-and-Go” celebration will be held outdoors in the most uniquely vibrant and loved gardens of The Frog & Nightgown at 24 Water Street, Hope Bay. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, a memory or picture of Pat to share would be treasured. Michele, John, and Carol wish to thank the incredibly caring, compassionate staff at both the Owen Sound Hospital and at Central Place for their love and support.
