Letter: Parking Ticket in Lion’s Head

905

On June 12, 2021 myself and my sister, who was visiting us at our cottage, decided to pick up a few things at the grocery store in Lion’s Head. We parked on the side street a few spots up from the store. There was a by-law officer standing there who very politely said good morning and asked how we were. When we came out we had a $60 parking ticket!

Our cottage is in Hope Bay and we hadn’t been up since April and had no idea of this new by-law. I didn’t notice the signs because I wasn’t looking for any new signs since parking has always been free. We were in the store about a half hour.

What offends me the most is not that we have to pay for parking, but that the officer didn’t have the common courtesy to point out that it was paid parking or even where the ticket kiosk was located.

We have supported the Lion’s Head community businesses for 40 years, but no more. Wiarton is just as handy. I hope you make your fortune.
