In regards to the parking/crowding issue, I think that a big expansion of the Crane River picnic grounds will give day trippers like myself a place to go. The present property has enough room to add approximately 100 picnic tables or more with minimum forest clearing. Add a nature trail, better outhouses, garbage cans and weekend maintenance.
I would be willing to pay a small parking fee from a ticket machine. The Ministry of Transportation might be interested in this.
I noticed a food truck was a hit. A large gravel and grassy field with amenities could be used for a food truck court. This is a good place to put a lot of people during the summer months.
I only go up there once or twice a year and have noticed the uptick in tourism.
